Site Of Interest
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

I really like keeping up with what's going on online, and that is
why I'm always visiting http://www.wired.com/. Wired has been one
of the best print magazines for a while, and their website is not
going to bring down that image. This site isn't related directly
to one specific business model, but since the Internet effects an
amazingly high number of us, I think it's pretty relevant. I have
probably visited this site a good five-hundred or more times over
the past few years, and I wouldn't even be able to guess how much
time I've spent reading articles here. The site is a little over
the top in terms of design, with very bright colors and a flashy
interface, but that shouldn't bother you. A great example of an
article that caught my eye was about a new tool being used by the
spammers. This new tool basically hides the true identity of web
pages and their hosts, making it very hard to hunt down spammers.
No, it's not really related to what I do in Internet marketing,
but it does give me a heads up when I try to hunt down some scum
in the future. I'm not sure that all of you will find reading up
on technical stuff all that interesting, but I would like to think
that some of you would. The working of the Internet and all things
techy are all around us, and are making up more of a daily lives
as time goes on. I'd like to know what's coming! I may have sent
you all to this site at some point in the past, or not, sometimes
it's hard for me to remember, but either way it's worth a visit.

Top Ten Reasons Why eBooks Are Better Than Printed Books
By Michael Angier

As an avid reader and author, I have a great appreciation for
the printed word. I love books--especially hard-bound printed
books.

But there are some distinct benefits to eBooks. And since
we're offering so many of them these days--both free and
paid--I thought it would be good to share some of the
advantages eBooks have over printed books.

1. They're quicker to obtain.
If you want specific information and it's available in a book,
you can purchase an eBook and download it immediately. Instead
of waiting for a printed book to be delivered, you can assess
this information now.

2. eBooks are more easily updated and upgraded.
Information changes rapidly today. Books on many subjects can
become dated very quickly. eBooks can be easily and quickly
kept up to date. When you order an eBook, it can be the most
up-to-the-minute information available.

3. You usually get far more than just the book.
Most eBooks are sold with bonuses and related information that
usually don't come with the purchase of a traditional book.
You might pay the same or even a bit more for an eBook, but
you usually get more, too.

4. eBooks take up less space.
Instead of a bulky library, you can fit literally thousands of
books on your computer. It also makes it easier to share this
information with family and coworkers.

5. eBooks don't use up trees.
Except when you print one out--something I usually do for
booklets and special reports--eBooks use very few natural
resources. We save trees and help reduce pollution from pulp
mills.

6. They're more portable.
You can have quick and easy access to hundreds of books on
your desktop computer, notebook or eBook reader. They're much
easier to take with you than traditional tomes.

7. References can be hot-linked.
Easy links to Web sites and other references can be placed in
an electronic book. While reading, you can click on hot links
to other places to find out more. With the proliferation of
wireless networks, this will become even more useful.

8. You can custom brand them.
Other people's eBooks can be branded with your name and you
can allow others to brand YOUR eBooks with THEIR name. There
are many viral eBooks and reports that the creators will often
allow you to give away or sell, with your name or company's
name shown on the cover or linked at the end.

9. You can do global searches and find information quickly.
When you're looking for certain information within a book, you
can easily find it using the find feature. It saves you time
and aggravation looking for something in particular.

10. The technology will get better.
This is an emerging technology and people are often slow to
change. But as the quality of monitors improve and become more
compact and mobile, more and more we'll be reading electronic
books.

What Are They Thinking
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Why is it that no one promotes an opportunity for more than a few
weeks? And why do these same people then quit those opportunities
because of a lack of success? I'm not sure what it's going to take
for our industry to take a turn, but it's not going to happen with
the current state of mind. People join an opportunity, promote it
for a week, wait until the commissions start to fall, then just up
and quit! How can anyone expect to be a success doing this? I know
that there have been at least 10 great opportunities over the last
year, opportunities that could have been long term success stories
for thousands of people, but it all came crashing down. I just can
not seem to figure out what everyone's thinking! In order to earn
more commissions an affiliate has to make more sales, right? What
is it that makes these same affiliates think they're going to be
on the fast track to big earnings if they aren't bringing in more
sales through promotion? Did everyone really join all these brand
new opportunities simply because they were there? Or did some of
you really like the product? If you like the product, and thought
it could be a success, why stop promoting? I just can't figure it
out. one of the best examples I can think of is TrafficOasis. I'm
positive that people need leads, I know that people were getting
their money on time, and I know the program was run well, but it
just died. Did people stop needing leads all the sudden? I do not
think so, but people must have thought so because promotion right
now is basically dead. I just don't get it. A product that is in
demand and has been for years, wrapped around a comp plan, run by
a great team, and promotion just died. What is everyone thinking?
